RFP & Security Questionnaire Drafter
New RFP → full first draft grounded in your approved-answer library, in under an hour. Saves your SEs 8–16 hours per questionnaire.
Why build this now
RFPs and SIGs are the highest-friction blocker in mid-market sales cycles. Deals sit for weeks waiting for someone senior to answer 'do you encrypt data at rest.' The answer hasn't changed in 18 months — it's in a doc somewhere. An agent finds it, pastes it, and flags the 10% of genuinely new questions.
What the $1,000 build includes
- Answer library: 100–300 approved Q&A pairs indexed from past RFPs
- Upload trigger: new file in Drive folder or Notion database
- Question extraction: OCR + section parsing (Excel, Word, PDF)
- Matching: each question gets top-3 library matches + confidence score
- Draft: high-confidence answers filled; low-confidence flagged with '[NEEDS-SE]'
- Output: Google Doc or Notion page with side-by-side question → draft → source
Common gotchas we handle
Outdated answers in the library
If the library contains a 2023 answer that references deprecated products, the draft inherits it. We add a 'last-approved date' and auto-flag anything older than 12 months.
Question extraction from Excel
SIGs love Excel with merged cells and hidden columns. Extraction is noisy. We inspect the output and tune the parser per template family.
Legal liability
A hallucinated 'yes we're SOC 2 compliant' is worse than no answer. We hard-code the compliance answers to the library only — no generative fill. SE reviews compliance section before send.
Sample prompt
A redacted version of the prompt skeleton we build around. Your build is tuned to your data.
You are the SE lead at {companyName}. Incoming questionnaire: {questionsJson}. Answer library (top matches per question already retrieved): {libraryMatches}. For each question: if best match has confidence >0.85, use it verbatim with a citation. If 0.6–0.85, draft using match as a basis. If <0.6, output '[NEEDS-SE]' with a 1-sentence reason.Questions
